A little about us.....
Having owned German Shepherd Dogs for several years while involved in the Protective Service/Security sector of Law Enforcement. I (Shane) came across a breed of dog I had never heard of, it was a Belgian Shepherd (Terveuren). A good solid dog by the name of Lobo, owned by a friend of mine - also in Law Enforcement. I got to know and work with Lobo and found the intelligence level of this K-9 protection dog and natural instinct to protect, was amazing. So when my wife Kellie rang me at work one day, to say she had seen a Terveuren and wanted to get one, I was all for it.
Tankarla is a relatively young Kennel in Victoria, Australia. We have been in the breed since 1996, which is when we bought our first Belgian, Montanna (Terveuren male) it was Montanna, that got us started in this breed and we haven’t looked back. Our second Belgian, Brandi (Groenendael female) was purchased in 1999. Both dogs have given us alot of pleasure and enjoyment.
Update 2002.
Texan (Groenendael male) our third Belgian, is the boy we kept
from our first litter (Montanna x Gina) born in January 2001.
Texan is enjoying a successful show career, with success in the
All Breeds and Breed Specialty rings. We thank Helene (Lumineux
Belgians) for allowing us to lease "Gina" for our first
litter.
Update 2003.
Connor (Tervuerean male) is the latest addition to our family.
Unfortunately Connor broke his leg whilst still a youngster,
after surgery and a long break he is now back in the ring.
Update 2004.
We are expecting the arrival of our second litter - from Brandi
and Tex.
All our dogs are pets first and foremost - a good home is more important to us than a blue ribbon or a big ego.
